NOTO ArtsPlace is honored to host this reunion of some of the finest Topeka artists. The Exhibit continues Candlelight Christmas (NOV 20) and December 4 (FFAW)
The Collective formed in 1987 as a cooperative gallery staffed by members, initially a group of women artists who had recently graduated from Washburn University. With more than 60 Members and as many 'consignment artists', the Collective was a significant presence in the Topeka arts scene. After more than 25 years the group of artists decided to end their partnership but not their friendship. This is the first reunion exhibit of the group and it will be a perfect opportunity to view and purchase art from many of the members. The Collective began when there were few opportunities to exhibit locally. That has certainly changed, in part because of the popular First Friday Artwalks. Did you know that The Collective hosted First Friday Openings for 25 years! The show will be also be open on November 20 from 5-9 for Candlelight Christmas in NOTO and on December 4 from 4:30-9: for First Friday and by appointment - contact Michael at 785-375-4772.
